HONG KONG — Kitchee won the 2018-2019 Hong Kong FA cup by defeating Kwoon Chung Southern 2-0 in Hong Kong Stadium here on Saturday.
Kitchee almost opened the score in the 8th minute, but only saw Ju Yingzhi's free-kick turned away by a spectacular save from Kwoon Chung Southern goalkeeper Tse Tak-him.
Jared Lum scored the opening goal in the 85th minute and Fernando Pedreira sealed the win with another goal deep in stoppage time
Kwoon Chung Southern fought back in the 13th minute as Wellingsson De Souza teed up Sham Kwok-fai with a lovely pass. The latter stepped up and let rip but witnessed his superb shot blocked by Kitchee goalkeeper Guo Jianqiao.

Kitchee finally broke the game open in the 85th minute as Jared Lum connected with a teammate's long pass and teed up the ball nicely for teammate Lucas Da Silva. The burly striker took care of the rest and fired the ball home.
Deep in stoppage time, Fernando Pedreira added his name on the score sheet to seal the win for Kitchee.
The score stood towards the final whistle as Kitchee defeated Kwoon Chung Southern 2-0 to win the Hong Kong FA cup.
