WASHINGTON — A sinkhole opened up in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday morning, swallowing parts of a bus and injuring one person on board, authorities said.

The incident occurred on the city's Penn Avenue at 10th Street when the bus was stopped at a red light, the Port Authority of Allegheny County tweeted

Two people were on the bus, with one transported to hospital with minor injuries, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

The agency also said a crane company has been summoned to set up two cranes to remove the bus from the sinkhole and that traffic will be affected for eight to ten hours as parts of nearby roads are closed.
Pittsburgh, located in southwest Pennsylvania, is the second largest city of the state.
